Stress really isn’t the problem. Our daily stresses are often situations out of our control such as traffic or the behavior of others. The problem arises from our mental perception of the stressor, which in turn causes a physiological response in the body. Many of us in our fast paced culture react to all stress the same way. Our stress response is as if everything is an emergency and our body reacts by sending blood from our brain to our chest and legs, flooding the blood with stress chemicals, and creating an instant “fight or flight” condition. Historically, this response was critical for the survival of our race. Today, however, our stress response does not correlate with the actual situation. For instance, someone cuts us off on the freeway or we are stressed about a work deadline yet we have the same response to this stressor as we would to a more dangerous situation such as being chased by a lion. These daily stress responses accumulate and eventually affect every system in our body causing premature aging and development of disease. Our stress response is more fearful, anxious, and angry than the situation really warrants and in the process we wear ourselves out over time.
Learning how to recondition our body’s response to these every day stresses that are not life threatening is one of the most significant steps we can take to maintain and even improve our health. Interrupting our stressful behavior in the moment or changing from an emergency to a controlled reaction when remembering a previous stress, resets our nervous system, brings peace of mind, and keeps our body from unnecessarily triggering the fight or flight response.
Reprogram Your Body’s Response to Stress/Tap Your Way to Health
The next time you feel stressed, overwhelmed, or overly emotional, use the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). By using EFT, you can reprogram your body’s reactions to the unavoidable stressors of everyday life.
EFT is a method of tapping using your fingers on areas of the body (acupuncture points) in a specific pattern. While tapping, you repeat a statement about the issue you are treating, such as “even though I have a migraine headache, I accept myself”. For more information on this easy to learn technique please visit www.emofree.com. Tapping takes a little practice, but once you have the hang of it, the results can be miraculous. In fact, it could very well be one of the easiest stress reduction solutions ever discovered.
I have helped hundreds of patients resolve their addictions, anxieties, panic attacks, lose weight, I even used it to help one patient restore her vision. There is no limit to the issues that can be treated.
Sometimes, the stress release is immediate, and the headache is gone completely or the anxiety diminished considerably. Yet, in some situations, you have to tap regularly for a period of time to achieve meaningful results, such as in the case of the patient with the vision problems.
Can’t wait? Call THS today and book a one on one consult with me and start tapping your way to health immediately.
Happy Tapping!
