The Healing Sanctuary draws on the 5000 year old reservoir of knowledge known as traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). TCM is a complete medical system that utilizes many healing modalities including acupuncture and herbal medicine and is capable of addressing most health conditions particularly chronic disease and pain.
This ancient healing practice is based on the concepts of balance between the two opposing forces of yin and yang as well as re-establishing the flow of vital energy (qi) in the body. An imbalance in these forces eventually leads to illness. In modern medical terms, acupuncture balances or modulates the nervous, circulatory and chemical systems in the body.
TCM is very popular in Asia and Europe, and has benefited millions of Americans since the 1970s. At The Healing Sanctuary, our practitioners have over 20 years of combined experience in both TCM and conventional Western medicine thus enabling us to work closely with your other healthcare providers to assure you receive the most complete and effective care possible.
At your initial visit to The Healing Sanctuary your practitioner will conduct a thorough health and lifestyle history as well as a physical exam to aid in developing the best treatment plan to fit your specific healthcare needs.
Herbal Consultation
The Healing Sanctuary also offers herbal consultations for those who would prefer not to include acupuncture in their care plan. Our practitioners are licensed by the State Board of California to determine the best herbal treatments for you while taking into consideration any medication or supplementation you may already be taking. As with acupuncture, the objective of herbal therapy is to balance the body’s functions in order to promote wellness. The Healing Sanctuary uses only the highest quality herbal products.
